Mother’s Sphere:  The Unknown Known Surreality

A dark, futuristic, sci-fi play about motherhood. In a world where knowing more is dangerous and ignorance is encouraged, heightened fears arise when a visitor arrives. Challenging their choices and perspectives, the divide between the characters, Erika and Natosha widens while the unknown gains momentum. Erika believes that Natosha is her daughter, but hides the information from her. Natosha finds a boy and wants to adopt him as her son. Competition, desire and possession become entangled when both mothers struggle with not wanting to let go of a child. Gripping and inviting “Mother’s Sphere: The Unknown Known Surreality” explores a mother’s plight of letting go while casting doubt and fear in every corner.

A reading of the play will be coming in the spring presented by the Philadelphia Dramatists Center.
